The Poltava industrial enterprise "UNIVERSAL" of the Ukrainian company of deaf persons (UCDP) was founded in 1949 on the basis of cash departments of mutual aid of the invalids of work, and at first worked as workmen’s association on manufacture of different stock, sewing items, etc. From a middle of the seventieth its industrial direction is more precisely defined as industrial practice, and from now on it produces low-tension switching equipment, goods of the wide use from metal, tree and plastic masses. The market transformations have compelled us to search for new approaches and to discover not ordinary solutions, which are expressed in a modern title - "UNIVERSAL".

 For today the enterprise continues to execute its basic predestination - conducting of social and labor rehabilitation, tutoring of the invalids on hearing to those specialities that are accessible to them, giving them a job, making conditions for their high-grade existence.

          The enterprise grounded on the property of public organization on behalf of Central board of the Ukrainian Society of deaf Persons, is the legal person and operates on principles of the complete cost accounting.

          The industrial enterprise "UNIVERSAL" UCDP is placed in a central part of city at street Shevchenko, 58, where reconstruction, mastering of new techniques (which require the larger areas), limited by present industrial areas.

In connection with it economical strategy and the technical politics comes from existing realities and is based to precise calculations, account and saving of resources, searching for of an optimum management and improvement of industrial structure.

 The technical policy (politics) realizes some directions, namely:

·         modernizing and transition to new modern technologies at manufacture of traditional aspects of production;

·         searchings for of new aspects of production, spreading of a range of items according to requests of an industry and agriculture;

·         improvement of quality and consumer abilities of production;

·         study of demand with the purpose of security by the goods and services of the population.

One of technical innovations, is development and making of conditions for serial issue of new light sources, on modern elementary basis: it is light-emitting diodes, which answer to a world level, they have better saving indexes in tens times and can be used in different branches of a municipal services road traffic lights, advertising, signboards and illumination, etc.

Besides the technique of their production well approaches to existing production and can be executed by the invalids and allows creating new jobs for them.

Today at the enterprise almost 150 persons 85 persons from them are invalids of work. The working staff is shaped at the expense of the graduates special schools for children with imperfections of hearing. In connection with limitations on aspects of work we use special procedures for preparation of the working staff, also Central board UCDP designed individual programs which are developed for the worker.

In the current year enterprise has accepted graduates of the Poltava special school for deaf children for professional tutoring. We hope that all of them will find a worthy place at our enterprise.

As for technological parameters production of the enterprise satisfies such branches as machine-tool construction, agricultural machine construction, motor transportation production, automobile, municipal, railway transport, also used in different gears of domestic assignment.

The enterprise has some advantages concerning repayment of the tax from the profit, profit for additional cost on the goods of own production, to the Fund of liquidation of consequences on Chernobyl atomic power plant and municipal tax. In this connection its investment climate more favorable. Certainly having premises for investment, it would be desirable to receive the offers on cooperation, which take into account specificity of the enterprise of the invalids. .

Today "UNIVERSAL" UCDP closely cooperates with architecture and enterprises of city such as organs of urban self-management, Urban executive committee, regional executive committee of Poltava, Fund of a social guard of the invalids, Fund of a social guard of the population, hospitals, educational establishments. It is necessary to mark - that thanks to the principals of these establishments who well understand problems of the invalids, the enterprise has stabilized the economic indexes.
